Jenolite is over 75 years old.
Established in 1939, Jenolite has a rich history with applications in numerous industries (see examples of use) to the present day, when Jenolite is still considered one of the most effective rust removal treatments.
By the 1950's, the business was based on products developed for rust removing from equipment of the then Ministry of Supply. The range of products developed through the 1950's and 1960's gained Jenolite a reputation as a leading metal treatment specialist. The company grew both in the UK and internationally and at one time covered thirty-five different countries around the world. Jenolite continues to be used today by the Ministry of Defence.
Ownership of the business has changed over the years from Alexander Duckhams & Co Ltd of Egham, Surrey in 1969 to Permalite Ltd in 1987. Since then, Jenolite products have been marketed by Bluecol and since the late 1990's by Pennzoil Quaker State and Shell Chemicals Ltd.
Today, however, the complete supply chain is owned by Jenolite, thereby improving the availability and reliability of supply.
In addition, the product offering itself has improved. Recent developments in corrosion technology rust treatment has seen the marrying of Jenolite Rust Removers (Original) with subsequent co-polymer acrylic coatings to give corrosion resistance in extreme conditions (No Prime).
